Speaker Spotlight: Sonia Eubanks Wilson, Business Consultant

Mrs. Wilson has over 20 years of experience in working with small businesses in the private and public sectors.
Sonia Eubanks Wilson is a Business Consultant for Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southern University & A&M College. Mrs. Wilson is responsible for providing client consultation to start up and existing businesses, as well as, daily management of programmatic reports/projects. This is also inclusive of providing consultation services in the areas of or startup and existing businesses in the capacities of strategic planning, business development, financial evaluation, marketing and a variety of concentrated business components. Also, Mrs. Wilson’s areas of expertise are inclusive of developing/writing a business plan, facilitation of trainings, program development, strategic planning, developing partnerships and grant writing.

Presenter Sonia Wilson, business consultant with Louisiana Small Business Development Center, will focus on helping participants learn how to determine the feasibility of their idea as well as how to obtain a small business loan. Topics of discussion include: the purpose of developing a feasible business plan; assessing business risks; marketing strategy development; management planning; financial planning; identifying sources of funds for business start-up; the do’s and don'ts of borrowing money; the loan application process; and the key resources available to get assistance.
